We Are a Stewardship Parish and a Eucharist Centered People
Stewardship is rooted in scripture, recognizing we, as individuals, are not owners of our lives but rather are stewards. Stewardship, quite simply, is recognizing that everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God and being grateful and generous with those gifts.
Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life. The term “Eucharist” originates from the Greek word eucharistia, meaning thanksgiving.
In the celebration of the Eucharist, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instrumentality of the priest.
The whole Christ is truly present -- body, blood, soul, and divinity -- under the appearances of bread and wine, the glorified Christ who rose from the dead. This is what the Church means when she speaks of the "Real Presence" of Christ in the Eucharist.
What does that mean for us?
Therefore as a parish family, we recognize each one of us is a unique and precious creation of God. That together we form the Body of Christ here on Earth. Though our stewardship, of all we have and all we are we seek a closer relationship with God. We firmly believe that we are never better than when we come together to worship at the table of sacrifice to receive Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament to nourish and strengthen us for our spiritual journey ahead.
