The loss of a loved one at any time is a life-changing event for everyone, especially those whose lives have been touched by such a loss. The Ministry of Consolation invites your family to participate in preparing the Mass of Christian Burial for your deceased loved one,. Prior to meeting with a member of this ministry, the information on this web page will assist you in choosing scripture readings, music and details that will make the Mass more personal and meaningful. Our goal is to have this Mass both honor the deceased and bring comfort and consolation to the family. A member of this ministry will be reaching out to you to arrange a suitable time to meet and finalize the Mass. Please know that your parish family is holding you in prayer at this difficult time. 

In addition, many have found it helpful to take advantage of a support group to help in processing the emotions and feelings that occur during this difficult time. It can be very healing to hear one another’s stories and the ways others are coping during their own grief journey. A self-help grief support program entitled “WE THE LIVING” occurs here at ‘Our Lady’ several times a year facilitated by a trained volunteer. It is a 6-8 week session that includes sharing information, stories and uses various materials for discussion. Please check the Sunday bulletin for the next session dates as they rotate between St. Anne’s, Notre Dame and OLPH.
